Prep your Burgers in the Morning
I'm BIG into burgers lately.
And with Memorial Day weekend upon us, it feels like a great time to talk about 'em.
Burgers are super healthy if made correctly (if you're doing beef, aim for 90/10 or leaner to make sure it's higher protein / lower calorie).
I'm obsessed with these pre-made Buffalo Chicken and Greek Chicken burgers from Cotton Cattle Company (discount code at the bottom of the email - they deliver the highest quality frozen meats anywhere in the country).
I've also made my own sirloin burgers and turkey burgers lately.
These require a little more work but are still very easy (mix 1 egg per pound of any ground meat, season with salt / pepper, grill on the bbq for 4/5 minutes per side)
I really don't like the term "meal prep" as I think it has a pretty negative connotation.
But with that said I implemented a really effective strategy this week to prep two of my dinners.
Let's circle back to the chicken burgers from Cotton Cattle, as the approach with them requires effectively zero preparation.
These are already pre made, so the burgers only need to be unthawed and cooked.
Once unthawed, you just gotta zap them in the air fryer for ~15 minutes at 360 degrees, and then they're good to go.
Twice this week, I threw them in the air fryer in the morning while eating my breakfast before I left for work, and then put them in the fridge for dinner later that night.
After getting home from work, I heated them up for a minute in the microwave.
Threw some Martin's Potato Rolls in the toaster for the buns.
As for the sides, one night I heated up some frozen broccoli in the microwave.
The other night I threw some Alexia sweet potato waffle fries in the air fryer (so good).
And then feasted. Easiest meal ever. Protein packed. And so tasty.
I did the Buffalo Chicken Burgers one night and the Greek Chicken Burgers another night to get some variety.
If you don't have one yet for some reason, it's time to get an air fryer.
It makes cooking so easy for people who have no idea what they are doing in the kitchen (like me).
Snag some chicken burgers from Cotton Cattle Co online or at the Hoboken or Summit Farmers market on Saturdays and Sundays.
And then this week, take 2 minutes in the morning to prep burgers for your dinners at night.
