Save 10 Hours per Week with my Meal Prep Strategies

"If you need perfect conditions to start, it means your success is conditional."

Here's how I approached meal prep this past week. Sunday was out as I was DTS (down the shore) all weekend. I work from home two days per week - usually Monday and Friday. It's very easy to do some prep on a day you work from home. You definitely have some down time in between calls to take 10 minutes and prep something in the kitchen.

So that's exactly what I did to whip up an egg/feta bake. Takes 10 minutes to prep. Dunk it in the oven for 15-20 mins. Eat it whenever you want during the week. It's versatility is awesome - I had it for breakfast, lunch and dinner on different days throughout the week. Prepped it on Monday but didn't eat it that day. Ate it Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Served as the foundation for 4-5 meals for Amy and I.

Cooking a meal after a full day at the office is the last thing I wanna do. So I don't do it. I prep it another time, throw it in the fridge, and heat it up when I'm ready to feast.

Cooking in the morning before work is another huge life hack. On Monday night, I also fired up the BBQ. I grilled a yuge ribeye and a chuck steak. Had most of the Ribeye for dinner that night, leftovers another night, and didn't eat the Chuck steak until lunch on Friday (combined with some of the egg/feta concoction for a steak, egg and cheese wrap).

I almost always prep my entire breakfast for the week in under 10 minutes on Sunday/Monday. Usually Kreatures of Habit overnight oats with a scoop of Kion protein + scoop of Kion creatine. Mix up 4-5 bowls at once, throw them in the fridge, add fruits the morning of.

Prepping food like this makes your life so much easier. I hardly have to think when the week gets going. It's all execution.

Live by the 80/20 rule. Lock in the 80 by prepping some quick and easy meals. And then enjoy yourself for the other 20. Crushed a Spicy Vodka Chicken Parm with Rigatoni from an Italian restaurant in Hoboken on Friday night. Devoured some Shake Shack burgers last night.

Stay well, Hal the Health Coach
