Plan Fun Things
"85% of what you worry about will never happen. Stop worrying about the future."
Announcement: I'm gonna be hosting another 21 day challenge to kick off the new year - starting date will be ~ January 21. For those of you who participated in the Beach Body BLITZ earlier this year, you know how fun it was. Details and structure are still coming together, but you will need a partner for this one, so you'll need to submit your enrollment in groups of 2. This one will also be supporting a great charity, No Kid Hungry. And of course there will be a $200 cash prize. If you're interested in participating, let me know.
Lifestyle Tip: Plan Fun Things
Almost 90% of our joy comes from anticipation, not the event itself.
Think about how excited you get before a trip or trying a new restaurant - it's that build up that boosts happiness.
So if you want to feel happier every week, always have something to look forward to, no matter how small.
Giving yourself something to anticipate makes the present more enjoyable and helps you stay excited about life.
Here are a bunch of fun things we've already got on the calendar:
Smaller Plans
A while back Amy and I blocked off this coming weekend to go to Lavallette to relax and do a bunch of Christmas stuff. We've been looking forward to it for weeks
Christmas dinner with high school friends next Thursday
About a month ago Amy and I booked a dinner for next Friday at a restaurant in the city that goes ham for Christmas
We have blocks over Christmas week carved out to spend time with both of our families
Bigger Plans
Week in La Jolla booked over New Year's with friends
Trip to Anguilla with Amy's family is on the books for late January
Moving in February (will be an exciting move)
Trip to Barbados with my family is locked and loaded for April
The post MLK Day - April stretch is usually a pretty miserable one around here.
But it's gonna be pretty much impossible to not enjoy that period with this lineup already on the books.
I can't wait for all of these things. The anticipation alone is already a lot of fun.
Whether small or big, make some plans this week with friends or family.
Give yourself something to anticipate.
